Frequently asked questions

Are deleted photos gone forever?

No. When you confirm a deletion, photos move to your iPhone's Recently Deleted album (Photos app → Albums → Recently Deleted). iOS keeps them there for 30 days before permanently removing them, so you can recover anything by accident.

Why didn't anything happen when I swiped left?

Swiping left only schedules a photo for deletion. Nothing leaves your device until you tap the red Delete button (top right of the swipe screen, or on the Summary screen) and approve iOS's confirmation prompt.

Photo Purge says my photo library is empty.

Check iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Photo Purge, and make sure access is set to "Full Access". If it's set to "Selected Photos", only those photos are visible to the app.

Does Photo Purge upload my photos anywhere?

No. The app makes no network requests and has no servers. Everything happens on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Why is the order of photos wrong?

Use the toggle in the top-left to switch between Newest and Oldest first. Changing it discards any decisions you haven't committed yet and reloads from the opposite end of your library.
